It’s almost time! Time for Sweden Social Web Camp! And I’m going there this year.
Sweden Social Web Camp is an unconference held on the small island of Tjärö in Blekinge. It’s a gathering where people who work with social media meet for a weekend to learn and discuss the social media landscape.
I’m not part of the general social media crowd (and I’m a terrible blogger) but I have a genuine interest in how social media works and can be applied.
Social media is a big part of the internet (and for many people, their daily life) these days and it’s not only about technology. It’s about behavioural patterns and communication too.
Today we meet people through other channels than we did just 20 years ago. We communicate with people all over the world that we never have met, nor ever will, physically. The term “friend” has been widened to include people we know very little of, yet we refer to them as friends.
Even though I’m a systems developer in my daytime profession, I’m intrigued by these mechanisms, the psycho-social aspect, the technological aspect and the business aspect, that is why I choose to attend Sweden Social Web Camp.
